Since 1994, the İstanbul Child Health Association has been involved with the "Woman and Child Health Research and Education Unit", established in Çapa with European Union resources. The Family Health Department of the Institute of Child Health is installed in this Unit and provides health services to women and children under the age of five. The Associaton has given support to several educational activities such as courses, seminars and workshops on woman and child health issues and on education and counseling techniques, organized by the academic staff of the Institute of Child Health. These activities have addressed health professionals, parents, pregnant women and adolescents. The Association has also given support to the preparation/production of educational materials such as video films and brochures addressing parents, adolescents, etc. A video film on breast feeding.is one such example.

The 1999 Annual Congress of the European Society of Social Paediatrics was held in Istanbul. The main topic of this Congress, attended by a large audience of pediatricians, teachers and nurses, was "Shool Health". The Association was the main sponsor of this meeting.

All other activities listed under "Programs" have continued.
