This program was initiated to provide financial resources to children of needy families who present to emergency services with an acute health problem which requires immediate intervention.

Thus this program offers financial help to children of needy families who are unable to meet the costs of care and who present to the Emergency Units of the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.

The source of the emergency fund consists of donations made to our Association to this purpose. Very frequently, sick children who present with an acute problem have an important underlying chronic condition. This means that in such cases the limits of the Emergency Fund are extended to provide help also for the chronic condition. To date, 6 such children have been receiving financial help for a number of years.
